A display device is an output device for presentation of information for visual or tactile reception, acquired, stored, or transmitted in various forms. For purposes of this blog, I will be focusing on the electronic visual displays. Electronic visual displays generate visual information according to the electrical input signal (analog or digital) either by generation of light (then they are called active displays) or, alternatively, by modulation of available light during the process of reflection or transmission (light modulators are called passive displays).
More information on electronic displays can be retrieved here.
This site will focus on the developments and products of the electronic (visual) display industry such as LCD and LED televisions, monitors and e-book readers. It is also touch on the value of the industry, the technology advancements and major players in the industry.
